Ministers of Music

When in our music God is glorified,

and adoration leaves no room for pride,

it is as though the whole creation cried

ST ANN PARISH MINISTERS OF MUSIC (Choir members and Cantors) gathered recently at the home of Barb & Ron DeNamur to celebrate a wonderful year of singing and service to the worshipping community of St Ann Parish. Even though it was a scorching hot day, that didn’t stop anyone from having a great time.  There was great food, great entertainment provided by Bev Hyden’s award-winning female vocal quartet and definitely great conversation!  There were even juggling lessons!!

Though the cantors sing year-round at all weekend Masses and other special Liturgies, the choir takes a summer break.  Many of the musicians expressed their enthusiasm at being a member of the Music Ministry. Members of the St Ann Parish Choir are looking forward to getting back to rehearsals and assisting at the 9.45am Mass beginning in September.

The Ministry of Music is an integral part of Liturgy here at St. Ann.  Please consider becoming a member of this ministry.  There is absolutely no formal process to become a member of the Parish Choir or to cantor at Mass.  The most frequently asked question is: Do I have to be able to read music?  The answer is NO.  Just have a desire to minister through music. This can be a beautifully rewarding experience for you personally, as well as those with whom you minister, and, most especially, to those to whom you minister – the assembly at Mass.  If you have any questions or for further information about the St Ann Parish Ministry of Music, please contact Chris Schaljo, Director of Music. at 513-521-8440, or stop by and talk with him after any of the weekend Masses.  Also, you can speak with any current Minister of Music for further information.

Let every instrument be tuned for praise!

Let all rejoice who have a voice to raise!

And may God give us faith to sing always
