The purpose of the Worship Committee in a parish is to help instill a spirit of prayerful celebration and devotion to bring about a conversion and spiritual renewal so to honor, praise, and worship God with due reverence and humility.

The committee meets five times a year to address such things as the liturgical seasons, planning of specific liturgies, and promote various devotional practices, it also oversees the various liturgical groups of the parish.

Our focus is to improve and enhance the worship experience: to make the worship space beautiful and reverent, to promote a spiritual of joy and reverence at Mass and other liturgies. In doing so, the committee is committed to studying the norms, rubrics, and teachings of the faith to ensure that we at St. Ann are offering worship according to and inline with the directives of both the local and Universal Church.

As Catholics we are called to be Orthodox in living our faith. Orthodox simply means the correct worship and believe that is in-line with Holy Mother Church, the faith which has been handed down and entrusted to the Church from the Apostles. This is possible through Apostolic Succession- the handing down from the proper authority (Bishops). Thus, neither The Faith itself nor the Liturgy is subject to the wimps of individuals, groups, or even the priest, thus when it comes to both our Faith and the practice/worship of it, we must be faithful to Holy Mother Church.

As part of this focus, we have been studying and reading Church Documents to help us grow in our understanding of Liturgy and Worship. The documents we have studied may be found below by clicking on the document title.

Redemptionis Sacramentum (The Sacrament of Redemption)

Sacrosanctum Concilium (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy)
