As Catholics, we have learned the spirit of giving and reminded of it often as we approach Thanksgiving and the Christmas Season. We are blessed and called on to share our blessings in our “Service to Others”.

There are two corner stones to our Catholic beliefs, though. “Service to Others” and “Community”. In addition to being called on to share our blessings, we are also called on to join together in community.

Looking for opportunities to both, Christy’s Calendar Corner wants to suggest and promote attending Thanksgiving Day Mass. We understand it is not a Sunday, it is not a holy day and everyone will have lots to do to get ready for the holiday. However, Thanksgiving Day Mass has to be one of the best times to experience our service to others, the spirit of community and being Catholic.

So, join us for a Mass of Thanksgiving … a special way to start your Thanksgiving Day!

Also, please remember to bring a non-perishable food item to share with those less fortunate as we begin this Holiday Season.

This food will be distributed to St. Vincent de Paul (in our Parish), Vine Street Neighborhood House, (Over-the-Rhine), Community Matters (Lower Price Hill) and San Carlos Church and Mother of Christ Parish.
